Digestible Fiber
Fiber stimulates rumination activity, slows ruminal fermentation rate and helps prevent digestive disturbances such as bloat and acidosis. High grain creeps decrease the efficiency of forage utilization and support inefficient weight gain. Homestead® 14% Creep Feed is formulated with digestible fiber providing a large portion of the energy. Fiber is digested more slowly than grain and can enhance forage utilization.
Good Start in the Feedlot
A high level of feed intake soon after calves enter the feedlot is the key to getting them off to a good start and reducing sickness. Calves accustomed to eating pelleted feed before weaning are more likely to consume an adequate level of their receiving ration.
Feeding Directions:
Homestead® 14% Creep Feed is formulated for calves from birth to weaning. It is recommended to be fed free-choice to suckling calves utilizing a creep feeder. Calves will typically consume 0.75% to 1.5% of their body weight daily. Over consumption (greater than 2.0% of body weight) may result in digestive disorders. For best results never allow creep feeders to become empty. Remove spoiled feed regularly. Feed plain, white salt free-choice.
